Three Hiltons was chosen as the cover image for the December 2006 issue of California Fly Fisher magazine. It shows three variations on the classic California steelhead pattern, the Silver Hilton. The flies were tied by the photographer and placed on a streamside "elephant ear" leaf during a weekend trip to the Trinity River in mid-November 2004. The image evokes the visual pleasures of steelhead flyfishing in autumn and recalls Northern California's rich fly fishing history. Each of these patterns has proven themselves to be as popular with Trinity steelhead as the photo has been with Trinity anglers!
